purpose

Some gospel ordinances and covenants are so sacred that God permits us to receive them only in special places called temples. A temple is literally a house of the Lord—a holy place set apart from the rest of the world. In the temple, you learn more about the plan of salvation and how to follow Christ’s perfect example. God’s greatest blessings are available in His temples.

eternal families

Families are a big part of God’s plan for our happiness. We are born into a family. We aspire to build strong family relationships. Home can be a place where we feel support, safety, and love. God does not want family ties to end when we die. Because of temples, we can be reunited with our families in the next life.

Meet Makayla Goetsch, and watch as she shares her story. A young woman who grew up in Holly Springs whose life was changed by her experience in the Raleigh, North Carolina temple where she became a part of a forever family as an adopted youth and where she prepares to begin her own eternal family with her fiancee.

re-dedication

The Raleigh, North Carolina Temple just completed a renovation that took nearly 2 full years to complete. Before the temple was rededicated, it was open to the public for one week, where volunteer members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provided guided tours, answered questions and anyone who wanted to take a look inside was invited to come and see.
